Cutting food waste by planning with what you already have
Food waste often starts at the grocery store: you buy without knowing what is left in the fridge or when you will cook it. Zorivio helps you note what you have, plan leftovers and keep a list where every item serves a specific meal.
Simple steps before, during and after shopping
- Before: check the fridge, freezer and pantry, and start the week with what needs to be used first.
- During: buy for specific meals. An item with no planned meal is more likely to end up in the bin.
- After: put older food at the front, and freeze the servings you will not eat in time.
- Leftovers: plan them from the start. A planned leftover is a meal; an unplanned one is often forgotten.
- Storage: follow the label and food-safety authority guidance. When in doubt, do not eat it.
What Zorivio does to limit waste
- A light inventory to note what you already have at home.
- Cooking sessions and planned leftovers in the week.
- Ingredients reused from one recipe to the next when possible.
- A consolidated grocery list with each item linked to its meal; your manual additions are kept.
- Checking an item means it was handled, not that it was bought: you confirm separately what is available at home.
Zorivio does not measure your household’s food waste and shows no reduction figure.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to keep a full inventory?
No. Zorivio’s inventory is deliberately light: note what matters for the week, such as food to use first.
Does Zorivio plan leftovers?
Yes. Cooking sessions and planned leftovers cover several meals with less cooking.
